What I've Figured Out!

Here's an unstructured, ranting, stream of thought type of post without much editing or structure. My writing professor from University, Laura Kelly, would be very unhappy. She was cool though and saw the Doors live in concert back in the day.

I'm a big believer in self growth, self awareness, recognizing and changing weaknesses and ownership of faults. So as I hit 44 last month I took stock on issues and things I believe in and parts of what me tick. We're only here on this beautiful earth for a blink of an eye so why not make the most of it, lay everything on the line, reach for the best in everything and live with passion.

I like to be extra nice to servers and people in the service industry. It's a hard job and they could use a pat on the back, a good look in the eye and a compliment more than most people.

I like to give compliments. Compliments have impact. Life is tough so making someone feel good goes a long way.

I can look at my daughter and just start crying. It's been incredible watching her develop.

I like to be organized. Not as much as my sister but in a good way.

If you're late to meet me we are off on the wrong foot.

I don't do well with hypocrisy.

Competition is really good in business as long as you recognize it and use it to drive forward.

I have absolutely zero desire to compete in any athletic events whatsoever any more. Crazy as it sounds but it's true. I'd rather enjoy some good food and smart conversation then race anything.

I've made some good friends recently who I value very much. It's true that if you have 3-4 close friends in life you're doing alright.

I have no problems whatsoever saying, "I don't know". But I will always back it up with, "I'll find out."

I haven't had an alcoholic drink in 22 years, 6 months and 10 days but who's counting.

I have to be better at accepting apologies.

I don't know how it happened but I walked into a bike shop one day and it changed the rest of my life. How I met the exact right person to spend the rest of my life with is cosmic mystery or a crazy coincidence.

I need to understand the world of finance, banking and investing better.

I'm not intimidated by much or many people and will go up and talk to anyone at any time. What do you have to lose right?

How in the world Trump is President is beyond me. My parents brought me up to respect all people, especially women and this guy goes against everything I believe in. Remember, I don't do well with lying, hypocrisy and contradiction.

In most everything I'm pretty black and white. If you say you are going to do a thing or agree to do a thing than do that thing.

I really like pizza.
